Barbary Falcon

The Barbary Falcon and Peregrine, twins you mights think, are among the most magnificent birds to fly over the Turkomen Steppes. They roost high up on cliffs and less often on tall trees and prey on birds as large as Wood Pidgeons and Mallards but also on the occasional vole. Among the tribes of Iran the Turkmen have a very rich history in falconry. Wherever falcons fly heads turn in awe. At the Golestan National Park, you might have more than a glimpse of these majestic birds
